BFF K’s Review of It Happened on Love Street

Pepper Knight is fresh out of law school and ready to make her mark as a legal professional. However, when she arrives for her new job in Everland, nothing is as she plans. And for the consummate planner, this is a problem. Also problematic are the sparks she feels for her next-door neighbor, the town veterinarian, Rhett Valentine.

Rhett has spent most of his life in Everland. He came back home from college to open his veterinary practice; much to the disappointment of his physician father who wanted him to follow in his footsteps. Rhett has spent years avoiding his father and creating his own life. But, that has left a little time for romance. Until pepper moved in next door.

Pepper is an uptight planner. She has her life in order until the bottom falls out. With no plan and no money, she’s forced to take any job she can find. And, the position she lands will leave you scratching your head and cracking up! She just needs to make a little money, get out of town and reorganize her life plan. She just doesn’t expect Rhett.

At first, I wasn’t sure what I thought of this book, it’s a little slow to start but the characters are so interesting and the setting is so unique that I soon found myself engrossed in their world. This book will not lead you to any earth-shattering secrets of the meaning of life. But, it will bring you joy and smiles and butterflies and happily ever after romance. I definitely recommend this series, especially the audio version of the book.

Here are 2 warnings you need before you read, Dirty Little Lies:

1. This book ends with a cliffhanger. UGH! But, book two will be here very soon, so the wait is short!

2. There is a love triangle in this book. It’s an angsty little tension filled struggle to choose between two brothers. I’m not typically a fan of love triangles and will generally avoid a book that features them, so I want you to know you will find one in this book. But, I liked it anyway!

I was thrilled to have the audiobook release a couple of days early. I purchased it ASAP and added an audio listen to compliment my read. It was fantastic! Zachary Webber is a master!

Emma is a sweet and delightful librarian. She finds herself in a very unfamiliar world drawn to two men. Gavin and Cooper are brothers but they couldn’t be more different. The secrets are plentiful, the tension is palpable, and the sexy times are delectable!

The push and pull of the relationships makes this book a wild roller coaster ride with hairpin turns and wicked loopty-loops. It can be a little disorienting, but as soon as the ride comes to a stop, you’re ready to get back in line and do it all over again! Dirty Little Promise releases October 9th and the line forms behind me!

BFF K’s Review of Live Wire

There is a lot of action and emotion packed into a single short story! And, I’ll admit, I was at a bit of a disadvantage because I’m not familiar with this series or the characters. It felt a little bit like walking into a party that’s in full swing. It was kind of awkward at first, but after I got to know a couple of the characters, it was still a real good time!

And, I enjoyed the characters and story so much that I downloaded the first audio book in this series so that I can start from the beginning. With the plot and sub-plots in this short story, I’m guessing it is a really fun, heartwarming novella for a fan who has read all the books in the series. I still enjoyed the story and the characters even being new to the group!

The premise of the story and the attitude of the characters was campy-fun. It reminded me of the feel of the Sookie Stackhouse, True Blood series; sans vampires of course! The characters are colorful and fun. The banter is quick and smart and the audiobook is a really enjoyable listen.

Yay for a new series on audiobook! I’m looking forward to going back to the start of this series and hanging out with the Titan Group crew from the very beginning. I think you should join me!

Frankee and I stayed up until three in the morning. I couldn’t keep my hands off of her. Not when she was wearing that sexy-as-fuck lingerie.

I’ve never seen anyone wear anything like that. Sure, I’ve watched porn and seen it on those women, but never on a real-life woman. And never one in my bed.

Frankee is like my very own porno princess.

I gave her six orgasms last night—one an hour. I’ve never done that before. Not that I don’t have the ability. I’ve just never been inclined to.

“Frankee.”

She doesn’t stir. Not even a little. I shake her shoulder this time. “Frankee. Wake up, baby. I have to go.”

BFF K’s Review of The Contract

Have you read a book and had a really good idea where the story was headed, but turned the pages even faster because you couldn’t wait to get there? That was the experience I had while reading The Contract. Richard was a Dick (pun intended) when this book started. I didn’t like him at all, but I couldn’t wait to see Katy hand him his a$#; and oh did it happen!

Richard is such a jerk. When you first meet him, you’ll wonder how anyone could like him. He’s just not a nice person and the way he treats Katy is disgraceful. But, he’s soon desperate. Desperate enough to ask Katy to help him change his ways, or at least change the ways people look at him. He needs to go from playboy to smitten-kitten overnight. And, he has to do it with just the right person. He enlists Katy to help him revamp his image.

Katy is sweet and broke. She desperately needs the money and not for herself. Richard is a horrible person, but this may just be the way out of her precarious financial situation. What you soon realize is that Katy is so good, so sweet, so kind and so wonderful that all of her goodness can’t help but rub off on Richard. Reading his transformation brings on the butterflies and wraps your heart in joy. And it’s equally delightful as an audio book!

The Contract contains elements of Beauty and the Beast, mainly the redemption of one character through another. While the story is familiar, it is well written and immensely enjoyable. If you’re looking for a solid, satisfying, character-driven story that shows true emotional growth and redemption; sign a copy of this Contract right now!

While seriously addicted to coffee, and highly challenged with all things computer-related and technical, she relishes baking, cooking, and trying new recipes for people to sample. She loves to throw dinner parties, and also enjoys travelling, here and abroad, but finds coming home is always the best part of any trip.

Melanie delights in a good romance story with some bumps along the way, but is a true believer in happily ever after. When her head isn’t buried in a book, it is bent over a keyboard, furiously typing away as her characters dictate their creative storylines to her, often with a large glass of wine keeping her company.

Till Page has to fight for absolutely everything in his life. He’s a born fighter but an equally born protector and a tremendously hard worker. I can’t remember the last time I genuinely liked a hero so much and wanted so badly for him to succeed!

Eliza Reynolds is Till’s best friend. But, she’s so much more. She’s the tether that keeps him grounded, the sail that keeps him moving forward and the reason he works and dreams for so much more. Eliza is clever, mature, focused and determined. She’s steadfast in her commitment to Till and their future together.

My heart broke for the upbringings that Till (and his brothers) and Eliza had to endure. There’s also the issue of Till’s impending hearing loss. But, I loved the way they triumphed over their circumstances, using the skills and resources available to create a better life. Fighting Silence is powerful, suspenseful, hopeful and romantic.

In the audiobook, all of this is brought to life by two fantastic narrators: Laura Jennings and Carson Beck. The pacing and phrasing of both is excellent. The audiobook is easy to slip into and incredibly engaging. If you’re a fan of audiobooks, I highly recommend Fighting Silence. I’m hoping to finish the rest of this series on audio this year. I’m looking forward to more of the On The Ropes Series, the characters, the exciting storylines and the exceptional delivery!

Embrace Me begins with Allie and Hudson deciding to renew their wedding vows with family and friends to witness and celebrate the occasion. Allie finds the entire wedding planning process stressful and overwhelming. So, Hudson does what he does best….He comes to Allie’s rescue and surprises her with the answers to all of her problems. Of course, after a wedding comes a honeymoon. And, this one has all of the romance and steam we expect from this series!

Embrace Me is the conclusion to Hudson and Allie’s story and you really have to read the entire Chasing Fire series first. For maximum enjoyment, this should not be read as a stand-alone. Hudson spun to face her and within seconds Allie was in his arms, the hard planes of his body crushing her against the alley’s brick wall. Both hands framed her face as Hudson sealed his mouth over hers. His tongue pushed passed her lips, taking her in a lush, deep kiss she felt echo to her very core. Allie’s hands found their way into his hair, her fingers twisting through the dark waves, trying in vain to hold him to her when he broke their kiss.

His face hovered mere inches from hers. “You’ve been a bad girl tonight,” he rasped.

Just those few, roughly spoken words had her heart racing with excitement. Hudson was in control and she wouldn’t have it any other way. In the boardroom she stood her ground, going toe to toe with her stubborn husband on a wide range of issues. But in the bedroom he was her dominant lover and although there was a time she would have never considered such behavior a turn on, there was no denying the effect it had on her. There was a freedom in surrendering herself to him, a liberating sense of self unlike anything she’d ever experienced. With Hudson she was able to let go of her inhibitions and explore the wanton lust only he could evoke.

A soft moan escaped her lips as he ran his tongue up the column of her throat.

I’m a sucker for a political romance and this one delivers a powerful storyline that is sure to please the pickiest pundit. (sorry, I couldn’t resist that alliteration!)

Elizabeth McNeal is the real deal! She’s a strong, smart, savvy political operative that knows the best moves to make to make sure her clients come out on the winning side of every race. When she meets William (Liam) Baxter, politics are no longer the most important thing in her life. William is that rare politician who speaks with honesty, means what he says, and truly wants to make the country better. (I long for a real life Liam Baxter!) Elizabeth wants to help him win a coveted spot in the US Senate; but she is pretty sure she wants to win the spot warming up his bed just as badly. Their immediate and undeniable attraction creates some fabulous angst-filled moments. Elizabeth is also a few years older than Liam. This fact bothers her much more than it does Liam, but it’s part of what leads to the angst that drives the storyline. The story is packed full of drama and some interesting characters, making you wonder “who can be trusted in the political-snakes-den?”

Politically Incorrect is a quick read, full of interesting plotlines and intriguing characters. There are also more than a couple of super steamy scenes to deliver all the feels! If you’re a fan of Political Romance, this should be a definite one-click release for you!
